Child Care Coordinator

This full-time exempt position operates as part of the YMCA Child Care Department at the Knute Nelson location starting in January 2018.

Under the direction of the YMCA Child Care Director, the Child Care Coordinator assists with the overall operations of the child care center and provides quality experiences for children that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education and formal child care experience is required
  • Three or more years of formal child care experience is preferred, but not required
  • Supervisory experience is preferred 
  • Minimum age of 18 and must meet the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 3 teacher qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for working with children

Individual must be energetic, friendly, demonstrate a positive attitude and have strong verbal and written communication skills to positively interact with a variety of people.

Building Supervisor

This part-time position operates as part of the Membership & Marketing Department.

This position will begin in the summer/fall and the individual must be available to open/close the YMCA Fridays - Sundays (weekends only). Background in customer service, supervisory/management communication and human relations skills of any kind are beneficial.

This person is responsible for the safety of all members, guests and staff in the YMCA facility. The Building Supervisor is an ambassador for the YMCA and should ensure high standards of customer service. The building supervisor should be someone who is never tardy and always prepared to deliver excellent customer service to all members and program participants. This position requires excellent customer service, communication and human relations skills, and responsibility.

Teacher's Aide

This position operates as part of the YMCA Child Care Department. Background in child development, education or child care skills of any kind are beneficial.

Under the direction of the Child Care Director and Lead Teacher, the Aide will implement developmentally appropriate activities for an assigned group of children, and assist the Lead Teacher as needed.
