Certified Food Manager

This full-time position operates as a part of the Alexandria Area YMCA Child Care Center.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Serve all required meals on-site.
  • Facilitate the service of catered lunch-time meals 3 days per week.
  • Create and update a 4-8 week cycle for lunch following licensing guidelines for 2 days per week.
  • Create and update a 4-8 week cycle for breakfast and snack following licensing guidelines.
  • Order and purchase food and supplies necessary to operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform the necessary cleaning and sanitizing duties of kitchen supplies and work areas.
  • Work within the parameters given for food service/quantity/components/documentation as stated by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Hours:7:30 - 4:00 pm

Youth & Family Program Coordinator

The YMCA is growing, and is looking for new and unique opportunities to serve youth and families, as a response to community needs and demands. The Youth & Family Coordinator will be responsible for meeting these community needs, including leading successful School Age School’s Out and Summer Day Camp programs, Youth Center Supervision, Youth Sports and Family Enrichment programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manages YMCA school-age and summer day camp program;
  2. Manages YMCA youth sports programs;
  3. Ensures programs, services and activities meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program as needed;
  4. Recruits, hires, trains and supervises staff teams for success; Maintains staff schedules and evaluates staff performance;
  5. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents and caregivers, and community organizations to maximize program impact.

Full-Time Benefits Include: PTO, Paid Holidays, Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Retirement; 
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

YMCA Child Care, Assistant Teacher

This part-time position operates as part of the YMCA Child Care Department, working in the K-Readiness classroom from 7:15 am - 1:00 pm.

Required to have some level of post-secondary education, preferably in early childhood.

Child Watch Aide

This part-time position operates as part of the Membership Department.

YMCA Child Watch is nursery service for YMCA youth members ages 6 weeks to 7 years old to attend while parents attend a group fitness class, swim, or take a walk with a friend while our experienced caregivers care for their children.

Currently seeking applicants with weekday availability from 8am - 12pm and/or 4pm - 7pm. Flexible shifts and scheduling are available.
