YMCA Child Care, Opening Teacher

This full-time position operating as part of the YMCA Child Care Department working with multiple age groups. 

Schedule would consist of opening the child care department at 5:45 am, working 30+ hours per week Monday - Friday.

Required to have some level of post-secondary education, preferably in early childhood and experience in licensed child care facilities and/or schools. 

Must be dependable and accountable for opening duties.

This part-time position operates as part of the Health & Wellness Department.

Under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator, a Wellness Coach oversees the entire wellness of, and provides orientations to YMCA members.

Wellness Coaches must be energetic, dedicated to the safety and individual needs of members, and demonstrate the YMCA core values. This individual must have the flexibility and physical endurance to demonstrate all pieces of cardiovascular and strength equipment.

This part-time position operates as part of the Health & Wellness Department.

Under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator, personal trainers instruct and train individual member clients; provide excellent service to clients and potential clients in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment. 

Nationally recognized Personal Training certification is required prior to hire; may include, but is not limited to: (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM); post-secondary education preferred, but not required.

Evening Housekeeping

This part time position operates as part of the Building and Grounds Department.

Job Summary
Cleaning, sanitizing, wet and dust mopping, scrubbing, polishing, trash removal and supply stocking, in locker room facilities, restroom facilities, group fitness studios, hallways and gymnasiums. Additional duties may include vacuuming, window washing, meeting set up, trash removal and other related general cleaning responsibilities.

Currently seeking applicants with afternoon, and evening availability, from 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm. Shift lengths may vary to be flexible with daytime work hours.

Background in housekeeping or cleaning of any kind are beneficial.

This internship is supported by the Youth & Family Department.

Under the direction of the Day Camp Coordinator, you will assist with all activities, well-being, and supervision of assigned campers. Activities include swim lessons, arts & crafts, trips, songs/games, sports activities, theme days and shows.

Day Camp Interns are responsible for the care of children in the YMCA School's Out Day Camp Program at the facility, and off site. The role of counselors and aides, are to supervise and engage children in activities that support and promote the Mission of the Alexandria Area YMCA, in a safe and healthy environment.
