Looking for a spooky, healthy recipe to make with your kids this Halloween season? You have to give these delicious banana ghosts a try! Make this even more fun by turning on some Halloween music or a Halloween movie in the background.
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup vanilla or Greek yogurt
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- Mini chocolate chips
1. Peel the Bananas:
- Have your child help you peel the bananas. This is a safe and straightforward task for them to do.
2. Cut the Bananas:
- Slice the bananas in half to create ghost shapes.
- Encourage your child to use a plastic or butter knife to help with this step (under your supervision).
3. Dip in yogurt
- Help your child dip each banana ghost into the yogurt, making sure to coat it entirely. The yogurt will act as the ghost's "sheet."
4. Add Coconut Topping
- Sprinkle shredded coconut over the yogurt-covered banana ghosts. This will make them look like they have a spooky, ghostly appearance.
5. Create Ghost Faces
- Place mini chocolate chips on each banana ghost to make eyes and a mouth. Your child can get creative and make the ghosts have a variety of expressions.
6. Chill & Serve
- Place the banana ghosts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a tray and put them in the freezer for about 1-2 hours until they are firm.
