VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

FRONT DESK / GREETER

The Y is the front porch of our community and we're looking for people who want to help their neighbors. In this position, you'll get to know our members and guests, assist with questions or requests, and provide excellent customer service.

 

YOUTH SPORTS COACH

This is where the love for a sport begins! We're looking for people who enjoy working with kids, have sport-specific knowledge, and can be a role model for sportsmanship and fair play. We do all the heavy lifting so you can have a rewarding coaching experience!

 

CUSTODIAL / MAINTENANCE

A quality member experience at the Y begins with maintaining a healthy environment. This is accomplished through consistent cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment. We’re looking for people with maintenance skills, an interest in general deep cleaning, and more.

 

SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPING

Help maintain our facilities during the snowy winters and warm summers, ensuring a safe and beautiful environment for all.

POLICY VOLUNTEERS

The Alexandria Area YMCA is in search of passionate leaders to join our various boards and committees to help guide our organization as we serve the Alexandria area community.

 

BLOOD DRIVES

The YMCA hosts several Red Cross Blood Drives each year. Help ensure a smooth donation process and make a difference in your community.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Y hosts a variety of special events throughout the year for our members and the greater Alexandria community. Check back often for current opportunities or let us know now that you're interested in an upcoming event.

  • Groundhog Indoor Triathlon/Duathlon (February)
  • Healthy Kids Day (April)
