The Alexandria Area YMCA wishes to inform our members of a significant change regarding insurance coverage options in Minnesota. It has been announced that UCare will be exiting the Minnesota market effective at the end of December 2025.
This development will impact a significant portion of our membership base, as UCare is currently the second-largest provider of supplemental insurance for YMCA members in Douglas County.
Consequently, all current UCare policyholders will need to secure a new supplemental insurance provider to ensure continued coverage for the upcoming year.
Action Required for Members
To ensure your membership access continues without interruption in 2026, we ask that you please take the following steps:
- Secure New Coverage: If you are currently insured through UCare, please finalize your transition to a new provider before the end of the year.
- Update Your YMCA Records: Once you have selected your new supplemental insurance, please stop by the Membership Desk at the YMCA. It is vital that you inform a member of our team regarding your new provider so we can update your account details in our system.
Keeping your membership records up to date allows us to maintain accurate billing and check-in procedures. We appreciate your cooperation and partnership in making this transition smooth.
